Associate in Engineering Science (A.E.S)

This degree is for students who intend to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering at a four-year college or university.  Students must meet the prescribed general education requirements as listed in the Catalog for the Associate of Engineering Science (A.E.S.) Degree.  Students pursing this degree should complete the remaining required semester hours according to the requirements of the four-year institution to which they plan to transfer.  Because completion of the Associate in Engineering Science (A.E.S.) curriculum does not fulfill the requirements of the Illinois General Education Core Curriculum, students will need to complete the general education requirements of the institution to which they transfer.  However, to meet the Illinois Articulation General Education Core Curriculum requirements, the student should take an additional course in communications, life science, and social/behavioral science.  Students should consult with their Student Success Coach when selecting elective courses to determine credit transferability.  Most higher education institutions require a portfolio review for admission to a bachelor’s program.  See the “Associate in Engineering Science (A.E.S.) Other Requirements

All entering freshmen must earn at least a “C” in ENG101 and ENG102 for satisfactory completion of the IAI General Education Core Curriculum and for graduation from the College in all university transfer degrees (A.A., A.S., A.F.A., A.E.S.)
